SELF DEFENCE SEMINAR WITH A DIFFERENCE.
What is 'self defence'?
The principal aim of self defence is to reduce the risk of individuals becoming victims of violence.
It is a fundamental principle of the BSDGB that the term 'self defence' is given its widest possible meaning whereby priority is given to those non-physical elements which are designed to ensure the personal safety of the individual. It follows, therefore, that physical intervention remains always a last resort.
There may, of course, be situations where individuals will be left with no option other than to defend themselves by physical means. The British Self Defence Governing Body, therefore, includes within its syllabus, a range of approved self defence techniques which are easy to learn, easy to apply, effective, and, of course, lawful.
We introduce ourselves as a group of experienced self defence instructors wanting to promote the philosophy of how to defuse or avoid verbal ad physical conflict.
It has been brought to our notice that many employees, especially young executives, would value a short seminar advising how to control anger in the office plus to learn some basic self defence skills to cover physical provocation or aggression during evening’s social entertainment.
The important issue is that we are not intending to teach fighting skills but we teach you a new concept in self defence which is based on learning how to avoid danger and conflict in the first place and also on defusing and avoiding the fight and avoid trouble/injury to yourself as well as to other party involved. The latter would involve psychological as well as physical techniques.
We are now in the process of arranging these brief seminars, which to ensure time convenience, will take place on Sunday afternoons.
Our seminars are structured according to guidelines from the British Self-defence governing body.
During our courses all safety guidelines are carefully followed and there is minimal risk of any injury etc. Our instructors are expert in sport science and will make sure you practice in a very safe environment.
We also teach the participants about UK laws applied to the concept of self defence.
